When Google Arts & Culture published thousands of previously unseen works by Black artists, I developed a multi-video campaign that transformed the collection into a cultural moment. I shaped the creative concept and storytelling for Angela Rye, Yara Shahidi, and Nas, each delivering a spoken tribute to an artist who inspired them. The campaign generated 1.5 million organic views and more than 50,000 visits to Google Arts & Culture.

In partnership with the Alabama Post-Conviction Relief Project, I led the digital and social strategy for “Save Sonny,” mobilizing support for a man facing execution despite not having killed anyone. I translated a complex legal case into urgent, accessible storytelling that generated 6 million video views and reached more than 500,000 Instagram accounts. The campaign helped secure clemency for Sonny Burton—the first granted in Alabama’s modern death-penalty era.

The Equal Justice Initiative, founded by Bryan Stevenson, needed a digital presence that matched the power and national reach of its mission. I led a transformation spanning website alongside MADEO agency with strategy, user experience, e-commerce, and mission messaging. The redesigned site won the 2020 Webby Award for Best Nonprofit Website, while our broader digital strategy grew EJI’s audience from 78,000 to 483,000 followers in less than two years.

As Communications Director, I led a team that delivered more than 30 high-stakes campaigns involving statewide advocacy and U.S. Supreme Court litigation. By strengthening our short-form video, narrative, and media strategies, we generated 1.2 million organic Instagram Reel views in two years, compared with fewer than 20,000 before my tenure. We also secured coverage in The Guardian, The Washington Post, and NBC News.

Alabama’s only Black- and trans-led healthcare organization needed a website that clearly communicated its services, values, and community impact. I led the project from content strategy and information architecture through design and publication. Just as importantly, I created a collaborative process that kept staff members heard, engaged, and confident in the organization’s new digital presence.

I helped lead Google’s partnership with the Equal Justice Initiative to transform its research on America’s history of racial injustice into an accessible digital campaign and web experience. By pairing rigorous historical content with compelling storytelling and cultural partnerships, the campaign generated 47 million video views, earned a feature with Trevor Noah, and inspired a summer exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum that welcomed 31,000 visitors.

I led strategy and communications for the launch of Google’s first community space dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations. I positioned the space as an accessible, no-cost resource and built a campaign that generated 510 nonprofit registrations in its first year (more than five times the original goal of 100). The launch culminated in an opening-night event featuring Zendaya as a special guest.

Ahead of the cinematic release of Bryan Stevenson’s acclaimed book Just Mercy, I partnered with Madeo to build the film’s digital home. I led narrative and content strategy, working with Stevenson and members of the cast to translate the film’s themes into an engaging online experience. The website attracted 200,000 organic visits within its first three months.

I led digital engagement for #ShowUp, a Google Maps-powered campaign that helped people find nearby Pride marches and LGBTQ+ organizations by entering their ZIP code. I shaped an audience and influencer strategy that turned online discovery into meaningful action. The campaign won a 2018 Webby Award and inspired 140 unpaid influencer posts from creators with a combined audience of 150 million followers (Elton John, Sia, Camila Cabello, etc).
